Our first trip to Ecuador from Crossroads took place in 2012, when we brought a team to help build a church in San Martin. Pastor Tim had previously visited Quito in 2007 and developed a strong relationship with the leaders of the ministry there—a connection that has only deepened over time.
During that first trip, Jon and Shirley Fischer were leading the charge. Later, we got the privilege of witnessing the transition as their daughter and son-in-law, Angel and Krista Sigui, stepped into leadership. Under their guidance, the impact of this ministry has expanded significantly. Today, Angel is coordinating mission trips across several South American countries, multiplying the reach and effectiveness of their mission.
LAST year
In September 2025, we sent a team of 22 people to Cuenca, Ecuador. We were able to continue our mission—to connect as many people as we can with the hope that Jesus offers by constructing a new church in a growing urban community. We connected with so many families who will benefit from the space, as well as the relationships that were built!
THIS YEAR
We’re excited to announce that in 2026, we will have two opportunities to connect people with God across the global church. We will be taking a summer trip to Ecuador, and a fall trip to Colombia. We’re still partnering with Angel Sigui, our missionary on the ground in South America, who helps coordinate multiple groups each year to connect as many people as we can with God. Our goal for each trip is to fill tangible needs while also ministering to the local community. We don’t just want to build a church, we want to build lasting relationships.

JUly 10th - 18th
Tena, Ecuador is a city located in the Amazon rainforest to the east of the Andes mountain range. For this trip, we will be building classrooms in an existing church to help expand their ministry. We will be working alongside a local team, and have opportunities to meet people in this community. Tena is a few-hour drive from Quito, Ecuador where we will fly into. The views are spectacular, and you won’t want to miss out!

SEPTEMBER 18th - 26th
Cali, Colombia is a very large suburban town in the Cuaca Valley with a warm, tropical climate. We’ll be heading to Cali to help build a retaining wall for an existing church to help make it a safe place for all who attend. We’ll also help with a local vacation bible school while we’re there, so we will get to connect with people in multiple capacities. This will be our first-ever trip to Colombia, and you’ll want to be there!
